We created this blog so that our friends and family can watch our family grow and change from month to month. Every day brings on something new and we wanted to share every moment with you! The most recent entries start at the top.
We took Deanna for her 1 year portraits this week! We had some fancy shots taken of her in a pretty dress and some taken in her Halloween costume. To be honest, the best shots were in her costume because the colors and backgrounds were beautiful! I am glad that we were able to get some good shots in because she was not really cooperating with the photographer. She was very happy and content, but insisted on doing the opposite of what we were trying to get her to. She didn't want to stay on the mat, wanted to play hide-and-seek behind the screen, wanted to climb on the camera, and chewed on everything she could. Thank goodness that the photographer and her assistants were patient. The were definitely working on "Baby Time"! We love our little Bumblebee!!
Deanna's actual birthday was on Sunday, the 22nd. So, we sang for her and had cake again at our house. Her reaction was a little different this time as you can see from the picture. You gotta love the birthday girl!
We had a party at Gemini Springs for Deanna's first birthday. It was a joint party with some friends who had a daughter (Jillian) who was born 2 days before Deanna. We were hoping that the weather would have been 10 degrees cooler, but other than that it was a beautiful day. We had some great food, great company, and plenty of kids running around having a good time. Deanna enjoyed herself, but became a little overwhelmed with everything going on. I am sure that she will smile when I sit down with her in future and show her the pictures of the cool party she had when she turned one. Thank you again to everyone that came to celebrate Deanna's first year with us. It really meant a lot to us that you came. (For more pictures of Deanna's party, check out the flickr badge on the side bar )
We went over to my friend Melissa's new house today to meet the new addition to their family, Sophia (3 weeks), and so Deanna could play with Nathan (16 months). Nathan was quite the gentleman sharing his toys and snacks with Deanna. He even held her sippy cup for her while she had a quick drink (see pics). I joked with Jamie told him that Deanna had a little boyfriend and he was very quick in correcting me by saying, "no, he is her friend, who is a boy". Oh boy, she is going to be in trouble when she gets older.
