Hanging out with the Girls!

This past weekend some of the girls came into town and they had the chance to play in the pool with Deanna. She was able to show off some of her new moves. Deanna fit right in with the rest of the bunch! Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Little Swimmer!

For the past month, Deanna has been going to swimming/survival lessons at the YMCA. Living in Florida, Jamie and I thought that these lessons were very important. She has done so well, one would think that she is really "part fish". Anyhow, she has learned to hold her breath before going under water, find the a ledge and climb out of the pool, jump in from the ledge while sitting, kick and paddle her arms, and float. Floating was a tough one because she didn't like being on her back, so we are still working on this skill. Pretty in pigtails!

Not even stairs can stop this Baby!

Quick update: For the past month and a half Deanna has been "cruising" on furniture. She pulls herself up to a standing position on any sturdy and even not so sturdy object or piece of furniture in the house. She sometimes gets distracted and lets go of what she is holding on to for support and she stands alone for a few seconds and then tumbles down. Recently, she has taken up stair climbing (scary, I know). She only makes it to the third step when I get nervous and bring her down. Mommy, can we let the dogs in....Please....

As most of you know, Deanna loves our dogs and can't get enough of them. They are really gentle with her and are good sports because Deanna likes to pull on their ears, their tails, and thinks it's funny when she sticks her finger in their nostril...I know, I know, but she loves it! Anyhow, we kept the dogs on the back porch when we had company the other day and Deanna was really sad and was trying to figure out how to let them back in to play.
