Proud to be an American

This was Deanna's very first 4th of July! Of course, we dressed her all up in Red, White, and Blue. We went over to Art and Katie's house for the day, so that the girls could spend the day together. Once we got there, we went across the street to a neighbor's party, where Deanna enjoyed watching all the people and hearing the music. Deanna got the star treatment because she arrived at the party on a boat! Deanna went on her first boatride, which she didn't like to much. To be fair, we don't think it was boatride she didn't like, rather the bulky life vest she had to wear. After the party, we went back to Art and Katie's where Deanna splashed around in the pool for a couple hours. We tried to keep her up so that she could see some fireworks. Once the fireworks started, she wasn't too sure what to make of them. After a few minutes we looked at her and she was crying. So, that was the end of the day. She was exhausted and the fireworks were loud, so we decided to take her home. She was a trooper because she had been up and busy all afternoon. Needless to say, she slept like a rock that night.
